I was always wary of my small kids taking a shower because of the strong smell of chlorine from our water line. I’ve thought of installing a filter, but never really got around to it. Some even costs hundreds of dollars. I’m glad I finally found an easy-to-install filter that is at least within my budget at this time: the GoTranquility 10 Stage Universal Shower Water Filter
It’s just the right size too! I didn’t want to deal with installing extra hoses and lines that led to a filter somewhere on the floor or placed elsewhere. This size is just right for the type of simple filter I was looking for.
What’s included in the GoTranquility shower filter package
The complete set includes:
– the water filter
– an extra filter cartridge
– a teflon tape
– 2 silicone washers
– 10 anti-slip tub stickers
The extra filter is an added bonus! Some shower filters that I’ve looked at don’t even include extra replacement filter, but I’m glad the GoTranquility package comes with it! The included anti-slip stickers are also handy if you want to put them in your tub. I’ve been to motels in the past where they have tub-stickers such as these, and they help prevent some accidents from happening — especially if you have small kids or senior citizens at home. The included teflon tape is also handy because you don’t have to go to the store to buy one before installing the filter.
How to Install the GoTranquility 10 Stage Shower Filter
Installation is fairly easy, even your teenager can probably do it! The GoTranquility Universal Shower Filter is simple enough for anyone to install. All I did was browse through the manual real quick just to get the general idea, and I was on my own after that.
First, locate your shower head. Whatever the style is, they usually are built in the same concept.
Just unscrew the shower head from the rest of the tube/pipe. Make sure the water is not running, of course! You can do it 2 ways, which is not covered in the manual but is common sense: install the filter first on the tube/pipe that is protruding from the wall OR install the filter first on the shower head before connecting to the tube/pipe on the wall. That really depends on what’s easier and more convenient for you. I chose the shower head route. Gather what you need: shower filter, 2 silicone washers, teflon tape.
Apply the teflon tape around the threads before you screw the filter on. Don’t forget the thread on the tube at the wall. Take one of the silicone washers and put it in one end before you screw the filter unto the shower head. The washers and the teflon tape are there to ensure you get everything sealed right so that you won’t have any pressure or water leaks. Don’t forget those components. Once that’s secured, you can then screw the whole unit unto the tube on the wall. Again, don’t forget the last remaining silicone washer to put on the other end.
When you’re done, this is what you’ll get:
Easy and simple, right? That’s what I thought! And it comes with a 1 YEAR WARRANTY too for your peace of mind!
