When fire occurs, time is of the essence. A person needs to get out of the situation immediately, or succumb to smoke inhalation and consequently, death. Having the FIREMASK available onsite allows an individual to buy much needed time when it’s a matter of life and death. God forbid, anyone who is reading this post will have to go through this experience someday, but if you want to prepare, then the FireMask F-60 — a filtration mask — is a valuable tool to keep in stock.

The main function of the FIREMASK is to provide protection from intense smoke. When you put on the FIREMASK in an event of heavy smoke from a fire in the building, the filtration mask gives you about 60 minutes of valuable time so that you can find your way out and go safely to the nearest exit. Otherwise, the older alternative to buy yourself some much needed time would be to find a piece of cloth, wet it with water, and place over your nose.

The FIREMASK will come sealed, so that you’ll know that it has not been tampered with. Just note that the device is meant for one-time use only, so don’t think you can keep storing this once it’s been used already. Obviously, I can’t test my FireMask F-60 unit completely for effectiveness, as that would just mean I’d have to set my house on fire first (No way! LOL). However, I did verify that the whole package was vacuum-sealed tight, giving me the assurance that this will work when necessary. If you haven’t noticed, there’s a large red arrow pointing where you need to open… when the time comes.

I would recommend reading the instructions which are posted on the side of the container. Familiarize yourself with the instructions and do a practice run of the directions in your head, so that you are more prepared when an incident occurs. If you are unsure of the directions, contact the manufacturer to clarify. Make sure you keep others informed about the FIREMASK and where it’s located, so that everyone knows where to look for it in case of an emergency.

The back of the container should have an expiration date, as you can see in the photo below. Make sure you keep an eye on this date, as it would not be recommended for use after that. The manufacturer only guarantees the FIREMASK for a period of 3 years against all defects of fabrication. Make sure you fill out the online warranty form.

The FireMask is good to have in stock at a classroom, at home, in the workplace, or wherever deemed necessary. Better safe than sorry, right?
