I must say that this Davaon Bypass Pruning Shears arrived rather quickly with Prime shipping. It came well packaged without any issues during shipment.
For those who have a garden — whether it’s a vegetable garden, a yard garden, or overgrowth of bushes, thorns and branches — this is a very useful tool to have.
Before using it however, you first have to loosen up a screw as it’s got a “clip” (for lack of a better word) that locks the pruner in place. You won’t be able to cut anything without doing so:
Once released, the handle can open up as shown below — ready for action!
The Davaon Premium Bypass Pruner has a carbon steel blade and I’ve included photos below for your reference. Here is the blade open:
Here it is closed:
What is very different and sets the Davaon Pruner apart from the typical pruner that I’d usually find at our local store is the handle. This is going to sound strange, but it’s got a bottom handle that rotates. It is not set in place like the typical garden pruner. It adjusts and follows the contour of the hands for those hard-to-reach areas or interestingly-angled branches to cut, so there’s less strain on your wrist/hands. Also, if part of another branch is on the way, you can rotate the handle so you can still reach for the branch that you are actually trying to prune. Helpful, isn’t it? Just be aware that it’s going to take some time to get used to it. It will feel strange at first — which is normal.
Another benefit of the Davaon Premium Bypass Pruning Shear is that the bottom handle also comes with a finger protection guard.
You’ve probably only seen this on swords. Well, it works the same way. It protects your hands by providing that extra shield, keeping thorns and branches at a distance and decreasing the likelihood of being scratched.
Wondering where you can get a unique patented pruning shear like this one? Well, the Davaon Premium Bypass Pruner With Finger Protection Guard is currently available on Amazon at a 54 percent discount at the time of this writing.
