Christmas is coming up, and for the young one at home that needs a backpack for all their gadgets when going on a trip, this Black River Camping Company Backpack may work just fine.

The last time I used it was for a Health Fair that we were hosting for the local community. It held my laptop and related accessories, in addition to other smaller electronic devices and personal items. It’s got multiple pockets to be able to hold any gears or devices you might have. Now, it doesn’t have a separate partition inside the main compartment for a laptop (as you would expect from other laptop backpacks), but the backpack’s got a padded back, so I felt safe enough to put my laptop in there.

You might already have noticed the mesh pocket on the very front of the backpack from the photo above. It’s got a lockable strap that is adjustable to secure your belongings in the front mesh pocket:

The front also has a smaller pocket on the top part. This can hold smaller electronic devices such as smartphones for quick access, a wallet, a pack of gum, small snacks, or other things.

The top pocket has a slot with a black trim just above the zipper. This is where you can insert the cord for your earphone from the electronic device inside the pocket, so you can listen to music or other audio. I think that the slot is big enough (or can be widened) so you can also slide through it the tip of a mini-USB charger — if you put a portable battery bank in that pocket to recharge your devices.

By the way, the backpack also has 2 other mesh pockets — one on each side. During our Health Fair, I used one of those pockets to hold my laptop power cord, which is demonstrated again in the photo below just to give you an idea of how large the pocket is:

The last thing I’d like to note are the 2 other zippered pockets on the sides (one on each side). What is great about these 2 pockets is that they are insulated (see white material in photo below). For any activity which would require refreshments, these pockets are ideal for holding cold drinks. It’s a fairly decent compartment that can hold multiple drinks, depending on the size of your beverages. Considering that there’s 2 of these compartments, you should have enough space to keep a drink for yourself or other individuals in your group. If I were going swimming, I’d put my wet clothes on a plastic bag and put them on one of these compartments too — these side pockets are perfect for those wet clothes.
