These set of BYBlight CREE LED Flashlights arrived quickly in good condition, secured in its retail package box. This kit contains a pack of 4 flashlights, which is a great deal for the money!
The BYBlight package deal is a nice option for a family, since each one can now have a flashlight available as needed during a power outage, emergency situation, or outdoors at night when it’s dark. I have one in the master bedroom, one in the garage, and the other 2 setup in other locations in the house for emergency use. With the recent thunderstorms, flooding, and severe weather in Texas, these flashlights are good to keep at hand.
They’re bright too, and do not have the weak and dim yellow lights as the older traditional flashlights. Better alternative for sure! You can see a close-up of the LED light source in the photo below. It’s a square LED shape. When the light is on and you zoom in, you’ll see the square shape of the light.
The head section of the flashlight is labeled with the zoom settings. Just follow the direction of the arrow if you want to zoom in (more focused light) or out (light disperses into a bigger circle). You can see this labeling in the photo below. You can see better at a distance away if you zoom in the light for a more focused light. If you zoom out, the light disperses into a circle, which is more useful for your closer, immediate surroundings.
The power on/off button is at the bottom of the flashlight. You an also press the button more than once to change into different light modes. I’ve noticed that there’s a high setting (light is brighter), a low setting (the light dims), and a strobe light setting.
The flashlight appears to be housed in a strong casing overall. It feels like it may be aluminum casing. The only visible plastic part that I’ve noticed is a small part at the tip of the head of the flashlight, surrounding the edge. You can actually see the line in one of the photos above with a photo of the head. That’s the part that I think is plastic (it sounds like plastic when you tap on this edge section).
As far as how to access the battery compartment, don’t get confused! The normal thing to do is to twist something. Well, there are 2 parts that can twist here, the top and the bottom end. The top part of the head is for zooming in/out the light (You actually pull this in or out in the direction of the arrow to zoom in/out; but it also twists, which can be confusing at first). The bottom section is what you twist if you want to replace or put new batteries in. At first, I was twisting the wrong end!
Each flashlight requires 3 AAA batteries, which are not included. Just insert them in each slot in the battery compartment that is colored cream/white in the photo above and insert as shown.
