For the outdoor enthusiast, I’d recommend this powerful ECOGEAR FX Pro Series TK120 LED Flashlight for your nighttime adventures. It is one of the most complete flashlight package I have ever had.
Mine arrived without any issues in the mail, and was packaged in a nice retail box (packaged better than most flashlights I’ve bought, might I add). Unboxed, you will find the following contents:
– LED flashlight
– a battery charger that can be plugged into an AC outlet (can hold 2 batteries)
– 2 rechargeable batteries (type 18650) with their own case
– a battery holder (for your AAA batteries, if needed)
– a semi-transparent battery sleeve (inside the flashlight, in case you use the 18650 batteries)
For the ultimate power and brightness, I prefer using the 18650 batteries rather than the AAA batteries. I just find that the lights are more intense with these batteries.
There is a semi-transparent sleeve inside the flashlight to hold the 18650 battery. This helps keep the battery snug in there. You will only need 1 battery. Having 2 batteries available is definitely an advantage. For example, when the battery is finally drained, you can use the other battery as a backup plan.
However, it’s good to know that the flashlight can always take AAA batteries, if that is needed in the future — especially since those would be more accessible and readily available at your local stores. To use the AAA batteries, insert them into the battery adapter/holder first.
This ECOGEAR FX Pro Series TK120 LED Flashlight can definitely pierce the darkness with its rated 1200 lumen light. If you’re camping out in the woods, late-night fishing in the lake, or other activities, you’ll find the powerful lights useful. It can reach farther than regular non-LED flashlights that have the standard bulb. For a small pond or lake, you can already see the other side. At about 100 feet, the images on the other side of the woods was still pretty clear. This is reassuring, since you would want to see what’s lurking in the dark. It has multiple light modes and also allows for zoom functions (the light can be more concentrated and focused or more dispersed throughout, depending on your needs). I use the strobe lights for defensive purposes (if you’ve ever stared directly at it, it’s pretty blinding and disorienting which is why it’s good for security if I’d ever have to use that in the future).
Using the zoom functions, here’s an example of what you can see when you focus the light:
Adjusting the focus, you’ll get a more general lighting if you want to light up a bigger area:
To use the zoom functions, just pull the flashlight out or push it in in the direction as shown. Here’s a photo where you can see the flashlight lengthen or shorten:
Of course, the ECOGEAR FX Pro Series TK120 LED Flashlight can be used for emergency or regular household use as well.
Overall, I’m very satisfied with the ECOGEAR FX Pro Series TK120 LED Flashlight. It has met my basic needs and beyond. If you’re interested in having your own, you can purchase this at Amazon for $49.95 by the time of this writing. I wish it was a little cheaper, but then again it’s so complete with everything I need that I’m still going for it.
