Got this for my daughter’s room, as she has been complaining of being scared of the dark (Well, I was also scared of the dark as a little kid, so I can’t get mad about it… I guess it runs in the family!).
I showed her what the Ohuhu Ocean Wave 12 LED Night Light and Music Projector could do, and her eyes beamed like she had a new toy or something: “I wanna keep it… can I have it?”
When you unpack the contents, you should find the following:
– projector
– audio cord
– power cord
– NOTE: It did not come with a manual, but its use is pretty much straightforward
It’s easy to use. Just plug in the included power cord to the input on the back of the projector. Press the ‘ON’ button, and the action begins! The ‘On/Off’ button is the one in the middle shown in the picture below. The 2 other buttons are labeled ‘+’ or ‘-‘ — which controls the speed of the ocean wave motion.
This device projects colorful wave-like patterns on the ceiling. When I say wave-like, I mean the patterns actually move like waters in the ocean. The wave-like motion is caused by movement of the gears in the projector. I have opened the top cover so you can view the LED lights, gears, and reflectors.
The movement of the spinning plastic reflector over the LED lights produces a very nice display of art on the ceiling. The cover on top deflects the projected light in different angles, providing a good light show.
It’s hard to tell from the pictures, but the projected patterns are very colorful. You can even change the color patterns with just the touch of a button. Just press the button in the middle (on/off button) multiple times to make your selection.
You can have up to 8 brightness modes that give you various color combinations. In some selections, the LED lights even blink. You can choose what you like best!
If you want to make it more relaxing, you can even play music with it by attaching your MP3 device or smartphone using the included audio cord. The input is in the back of the projector. Audio will be heard over the built-in speaker. The speaker quality is quite decent and my smartphone was in full volume. However, I suggest that you don’t put your volume in full blast to avoid damaging the speaker. It’s not meant for that!
I hope this device will last. I’m banking on the gears being made of quality material — of course I can’t check it directly, coz that would have to mean I’d have to break this thing open! LOL
I suggest this for your little ones… they’ll have fun with the lights for sure — but I guess you can also use it to create a fun, relaxing, or romantic atmosphere with your significant other. It turns off by itself in an hour, so there’s no need to worry about falling asleep with it on.
