This DBPOWER Bluetooth gadget features many features in a small plug that is only less than 3.5 inches long.
The DBPOWER Bluetooth V3.0 Music Receiver package box contains the following when opened:
– the DBPOWER BA-600 unit
– an AUX cable
– an instruction manual
This DBPOWER gadget is mainly a bluetooth device, but also features a car charger function with a 5V 2A output — which is a BONUS feature to have, if you ask me! This is particularly useful if you have smartphones or other electronic devices that need to be charged up. My car is older and does not have a bluetooth function, nor does it have a built-in USB in the dashboard — which makes the DBPOWER Bluetooth V3.0 Music Receiver handy in this regard. The only thing missing now from the package is a USB cord, but I’m not complaining. I’ve got plenty at home from several gadgets that I have.
As far as its bluetooth function, this DBPOWER gadget can transmit both music and calls from a compatible bluetooth device. The top of the gadget — which is the part that is visible to you when you plug this into your vehicle’s power outlet — is clearly marked with the appropriate functions (ie play, pause, fast-forward, reverse, answer a call, etc):
It would have been very convenient if my car came with a built-in Aux connection, but it doesn’t since it’s an older model; it doesn’t even have a bluetooth function! But for those who have an AUX input available in their vehicle, then the included AUX cable will be put to good use.
The good news is that I can still use this gadget. Fortunately, it can transmit music and calls via FM radio, so I am not completely at a loss. I told you this device was useful!
Pairing it with my smartphone (a Samsung android phone) was easy. Don’t worry, the included user manual was relatively easy to follow, if you are not a technical person like me. Once the DBPOWER BA-600 was plugged in the power outlet, it automatically broadcasted itself, and I was able to connect it to my smartphone with ease. I set the FM frequency and saved it in my car for quick access, just like I did for my favorite radio channels. The default FM frequency for the DBPPOWER BA-600 was 88.1, which actually worked for me as this channel had the least interference from the radio. There are 2 other FM frequencies available that you can use with this device. I suggested that you use the frequency with the least “noise” or interference from existing radio stations. As I have mentioned, I was okay with the default setting of 88.1. The call quality when tested was as expected for an FM transmission.
UPDATE 11/23/15: When it comes to the bluetooth audio quality, so far I have been satisfied. I have been using bluetooth audio — listening to music or lessons from my android device — without interference or disconnection, and the audio quality was good. Hope it will stay like this! The quality was definitely better than the audio from phone calls; I can tell the difference.
