As far as shipping is concerned, I had no problems receiving the MABUA Auto Buckle Leather Belt in the mail. It was delivered rather quickly, packaged well and without issues. In fact, they took steps to ensure integrity of the belt, as you can see in the photo below. Not only was the belt loop itself (and the buckle) protected with a cellophane wrap, but the belt was also enclosed in a protective case.
There were 2 color options available. I already have a brown belt, so I chose black because that’s what I needed. I like the buckle’s design, which I think complements the black color of the belt:
The Mabua Auto Buckle Leather Belt has no holes like other belts that you are familiar with. It’s got a locking mechanism that I can’t describe properly, so I’ll just show you close ups of the area to give you an idea of how this works.
It’s got grooves (for lack of a better word) in the middle, where a locking mechanism from the buckle engages with and locks itself into place.
One of the advantages as you can see from the photo above is that the “spacers” (for lack of a better word) are closer together. That means you can achieve a more accurate fit, since they are not as separated as a typical belt with holes whose distance is about 1-inch apart. You also don’t need to make your own holes in between to try to make a belt fit you better (I’ve done that before, and I think you are guilty too! LOL)
There are some important steps to take before using the belt, unless the belt already fits you perfectly upon arrival. It doesn’t take long — at least, it did not take long with me. The belt comes ready for a 48-inch waist, and has been pre-marked in the back, as shown below.
Now, I’m not anywhere close to that at this time, so there’s some adjustments needed. First, notice that there is a square thing in the back with a notch (see thumb area):
Pry that open so you can release the leather belt. I used a screw driver, but you can use anything. Just make sure you don’t scratch up a new belt. LOL. Once released, cut the edge using a scissor to your desired length. As I’ve mentioned earlier, the back of the belt is pre-marked with waist sizes to guide you in this. I didn’t cut to my actual waist size, but actually 2 more measurements above, just to give me some freedom to grow. LOL.
I inspected the belt, and it appears to be made of good material (although I am no expert leather Quality Assurance inspector). What I like best is that I am actually able to achieve a more perfect fit with its no-holes design feature. So far, I can’t complain. I’ve used it several times already — and is now my preferred belt over my old black one.
