Growing up in elementary, I remember the enjoyment of reading mystery/detective type of books, especially featuring young sleuths. I particularly enjoyed the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew, and took any opportunity of borrowing them from the school library when they become available. In an effort to go back to those roots from quite some time ago, I grabbed the chance to have the Nancy Drew: Sea of Darkness computer software game from Her Interactive. Perhaps it is also my way of introducing Nancy Drew to my girls (to get them interested in the books).
I thought this computer game was meant for the youth, but I was surprised to be interested in it too! (Or maybe I’m really just a big kid inside!). If you like the challenge of solving things, then you can also enjoy this game as an adult.
But maybe I just won’t make a good detective! I changed the setting to play at the easier level, and I still couldn’t solve the game fast enough! There are still some mini-games that I haven’t passed! In fact, I had to use the clues (for most of them) to get me going; otherwise I’d be stuck! The good thing is that the game can be saved so that I don’t have to start all over again each time. You can load a saved game and continue the game where you last left off (if you saved before exiting the program). Just select your name from the list of loaded games. That means multiple people can play and save their game.
The Nancy Drew: Sea of Darkness had puzzles and games that were even challenging for an adult like me… and I like to think and solve things! If you’re up for a challenging game of mystery and fun–even as an adult– then try this game. I wouldn’t be surprised if you actually needed a clue here and there, too!
Right now, there is a FREE SHIPPING offer if you order $25 or more at the Her Interactive website. Bring home the Nancy Drew: Sea of Darkness and develop your kid’s thinking and solving skills. Maybe, they’ll even do better than you as an adult! Who knows!
