Here’s a supplement that promises to help with concentration, focus, and memory. I am referring to the BriteSMART shown below:
Working on a mentally-demanding job such as computer consulting or being in the healthcare field can certainly take its toll. There are times where I just take a moment and have a “breather” — before I become productive again. When I’m in the hospital, I take a few minutes to go outside, stretch out, and take a big gulf of fresh air to help myself relax. This works best when the weather is cool and breezy. When I’m in my home office, I leave the room and drink a refreshing cold drink, walk outside in the front garden or the backyard and relax for a moment. Smoking is certainly out of the question; it’s not me! These are just some of the things I do so that I don’t get “burned out” and lose focus or get caught up in a high level of anxiety and stress.
I’ve met some who have been prescribed stimulants or benzodiazepines to cope. In the healthcare field, I’ve seen the effects of these medications on patients that have become addicted to or have developed dependence to them. As such, I prefer to take natural supplements if I can help it. The BriteSMART from BriteFocus, Inc seems promising.
In addition to Biotin (which is helpful with hair, skin, and nail health), the supplement also contains a blend of ingredients such as Ceretrophin, Acetyl L-Carnitine, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Rhodiola rosea extract, Vinpocetine, and HuperzineA. There is a clinical trial referenced on this web page, if you want to read more about Ceretrophin. You can search on the internet regarding the benefits of the other ingredients. I suggest looking at peer-reviewed research studies to find out more reliable information. Your local library should also be a good resource.
I have shown you a photo of the tablets so you can get an idea of what the pills look like. When you first open the bottle, you’ll notice a sour kind of smell to the pills (that’s the best I can describe it). I don’t know why that is, but it’s not a big deal as far as my own sensitivities are concerned. I’m not sure if that’s due to the preservatives or that’s just what happens when you mix the ingredients together. You can look at the other ingredients on the photo, if you’d like to figure this out.
According to the label, the suggested use is 3 tablets with food. Based on this instruction, I can assume 2 things: take with food because it’s necessary to help with absorption, or perhaps take with food because it may cause an upset stomach if taken on an empty stomach. Perhaps, it’s even both. I can tell you though that when I first took the supplements, I took them with only a full glass of water, having eaten only about 1-2 hours earlier. My stomach did not like that. However, I did not experience any problems when I took the supplements with food thereafter.
So far, I haven’t had any major issues after taking this supplement… but I’ll keep this post updated if there are any significant adverse effects to note. Your individual experience may be different, of course.
If you are wondering if this is something that your body/brain can respond positively to, click here to checkout BriteSMART and make a purchase. There is an auto-ship version, which is discounted… but there is also the regular buying option if you just want to try it first.
Now, remember that natural/herbal supplements are still not FDA regulated if my memory is correct, so make sure you check the statements made by BriteFocus or other supplement makers.
NOTE: As always, it is best to consult with your primary care physician first before using any supplements. This is especially important if you have a medical condition, currently taking prescribed medications, or have other physical conditions to be monitored. It’s better to be safe!
