Are you receiving poor signal from your cable or satellite TV and tech support keeps telling you it’s got nothing to do with their dish or devices? Maybe you have a bad coaxial cable and just don’t know it yet. One way to troubleshoot is to disconnect the old cable and replace with a another one and see if that makes a difference. If there’s a considerable difference, then you’ve found the culprit. Throw out that cheap coaxial cable that came with your TV (or save it in case you need it the future as a backup). I’m referring to that flimsy skinny cable (like the one I had) that goes from your television to the cable connection on the wall. You need a high-performance coaxial cable such as the one included in the BAMF coaxial cable kit.
The BAMF Cable Splitter Package and Coaxial Cable Kit contains the following:
– RG6 coaxial cables
– a cable splitter
– a cable assist wrench
Upon closer look, the cable appears to be made of high-quality material. It’s strong, feels thick — and not flimsy like my old one. The manufacturer reports that the materials used for the cable are hand made to ensure quality. The coaxial cable kit comes with various cable lengths, which is really useful because you can make a selection depending on your needs. The longest cable available is 6-feet long and there are 2 of them, while the other RG6 coaxial cable is about 18-inches long.
The included wrench is a nice little nifty bonus to help with screwing the cable line either to the back of your TV/device or on the wall. I’m sure you are familiar with the struggles sometimes involved in screwing in these kind of cables. It does require patience.
The BAMF Cable Splitter is nickle plated on a zinc housing. According to the manufacturer, this splitter works on the 5-2300MHz frequency/bandwidth for optimum performance. The BAMF Cable Splitter has 2 outputs, allowing you to convert one connection into two, which then allows the user to extend a cable line and connect to another device. The input and outputs are labelled accordingly to avoid confusion.
I have used a splitter in the past to run a cable line to another TV in a different room, so that I can have 2 TVs with cable access. There’s a couple of ways to do this. One way I have installed this before was to use the splitter on the cable line running up in the attic. You’ll need a few tools to do this, including what is called a cable crimper. There’ll be some cutting involved, as well as making new cable heads, among other tasks. Perform a google search for useful instructions on this process, or just hire an electrician/cabler guy so you don’t have to worry about it. You can also “split” an existing connection in any of the rooms in your house that has already been pre-installed with a cable connection on the wall plate.
If you are ready to get rid of your cheaper cable lines or use a splitter to extend a connection, then you might want to consider the BAMF Cable Splitter Package and Coaxial Cable Kit.
