I just wanted to inform my clients of their .EU domain registration options when Brexit does occur. The European Registry for Internet Domains (Eurid) has decided that when the UK leaves the EU, customers may no longer be able to have a .eu domain.
While decisions on Brexit are still ongoing, you may want to start transitioning your domains. Anything could happen as soon as April 12th.
* If you HAVE a European postal address: Update your domain contact details so that your European address is registered. This way, you will be able to keep your domain and secure it from being taken by your competition.
* If you DO NOT HAVE a European postal address: Unfortunately, registrants will not be able to keep any .eu domain names once Britain leaves the EU, this could be as soon as April 12th in the event of no-deal Brexit. We recommend that registrants transfer .EU sites to a new domain to keep business running as usual during the Brexit transition and beyond.
