I can’t wait to use this Solar Power Copper Wire Lights from Oak Leaf LLC for Christmas!
With 200 LED lights available and 66 feet of string lights, I have more than enough to light up the yard for the Holidays. The best thing about it is that I don’t even have to pay any electricity for it! Because it’s solar powered, I don’t have to worry about running any potentially-dangerous outdoor electrical cords. It’s really convenient to use the sun for stored power at night to run this OakLeaf, and I’m thankful. It pays for itself in the end.
When you open the package, this is what you’ll get:
– string lights (connected to the solar power source)
– solar charger
– a ground stake
– info card
The solar charger itself is tiny in size, so it’s easier to hide this from view when set outside the front yard. It’s roughly over 2.5 inches on one side…
and a little less than 3 inches on the other side.
I did not find any instruction manuals included, but it’s no big deal. You can figure this out with common sense, so don’t worry. Just connect the parts as I have shown in the image below…
and you’ll end up with something like this…
The unit is adjustable, which is good because you can point to whichever direction will give you optimal sunlight for power charging. Twist the knob shown on this photo, and adjust accordingly. Make sure you twist it back to tighten when you are happy with the angle.
The OakLeaf Solar Power Copper String Light is easy to use, even without an instruction manual. There is a button in the back/bottom of the solar unit, and the button is marked for your reference. Press the button depending on your needs…
Press the button once to keep the light consistently on throughout the night. Press another time to make the lights flash on and off during the night, like those flashing Christmas lights that you see.
If you press the button and nothing happens, don’t worry. More than likely, it’s not because the product arrived defective. I want you to note that the light will not turn on when it’s bright — during daytime. It’s got a sensor, so if you try to test this out during the day, it won’t turn on if the environment is bright.
I took a closer photo of the string lights to give you an idea of how the lights are configured within the copper string. The lights are the yellow areas that you see in the picture, or the things that appear encapsulated. You can stretch out the string of lights and configure them in your yard as you wish. I think they’re easier to roll up and put away when no longer in use, compared to the regular Christmas lights. In this photo, the string lights are rolled up for storage purposes.
To test the lights out during the day, go to a dark closet and turn the unit on by pressing the button. You should then get a response from the lights. Here’s to give you an idea of the light output and color when they are on, just for your reference:
