The area where our outdoor faucet is located is not enough to cover the plants on the other side of our home with our existing garden hose. Having an expandable one, such as the Ohuhu Expandable Magic Garden Hose is convenient when there is a need to water plants at a distance from the main water source.
It is particularly helpful that this hose extends up to about 75 feet when filled with water, according to the sales material. I have not confirmed and measured the exact length when the hose is filled with water, so I can’t tell you exactly if the 75-foot expansion mentioned is accurate. What I can tell you though is that once I turned the faucet on, I can visibly see the Ohuhu hose expanding in length (and diameter) as it filled water. Whether it’s actually 75-feet long is still, of course, up for debate.
For reference, here’s the hose (without water pressure) stretched out so you can get some type of idea of how long this is:
As I turned on the faucet, I noticed some expansion with the hose, and I laid it out flat so you can see how much it extended. It’s not much, but then again, I haven’t measured the actual length:
This is what it looks like when the hose fills up with water:
I have a 50-ft garden hose at home, and the 50-ft hose is barely reaching the plants on the other side. I have to add pressure to the tip of the nozzle just to extend the water’s reach. I do have an available outdoor faucet on the side that needs a hose, but it’s such a hassle to disconnect the main garden house and drag along to the other side; these rubber hoses are heavy too. The Ohuhu magic garden hose takes care of that problem.
By the way, the Ohuhu is very lightweight. You’ll notice this right away upon opening the package and carrying them in your hands. There’s no need to drag along heavy rubber hoses. Wrap this Ohuhu magic hose around your arms and you don’t have to worry about the weight and work involved to carry it.
I was given a flexible hose once in the past, but that particular brand had weaknesses especially at the connectors/tips that join with the hose. The brass tips came off and gave way with water pressure. Although the connectors/tips appear to be made of some type of plastic material, this Ohuhu garden hose promises to be more durable and stronger. I am hoping that is certainly the case. Only time will tell, of course!
At least this hose comes with a spray nozzle with adjustable settings, which is worthy of noting. With the regular garden hoses that you see in the local store, you usually have to purchase a spray nozzle separately… so this is a good bonus to have.
The purchase also comes with a plastic holder for the hose, so that’s also something good to note. In fact, I didn’t even have to screw in the holder. There’s a small opening on it enough to fit over a faucet. And because the hose is lightweight, it will hold just fine in that location.
If you want to try a different type of garden hose, the Ohuhu Expandable Magic Garden Hose is currently available at Amazon at a 43 percent discount at the time of this writing.
I just hope mine will last for some time, as I certainly need it for the other side of the house!
